Public Hearings on Cap and Trade: Action Item

Poppers- it’s time to be locally active! If you are able, please come to the public hearing and voice your support for HB 2020 (Cap & Trade) this Friday, March 1, at the Civic at noon. Better yet, bring a friend with you. Best to sign up a little early so the opposition doesn’t get all the time slots.

History of Carbon Pricing in Oregon

Here is some information on the history of Cap and Trade. The OSCC and the Partnership for Oregon Communities are on the opposite side of this issue.

Being aware of their information helps us in preparation for our position/testimony.

Update from Oregon State Chamber of Commerce (OSCC)

These action items were sent from The Dalles Chamber of Commerce from the Oregon State Chamber of Commerce (OSCC) and a message from Senator Cliff Bentz to Chamber members. (Thank you Sandy Haechrel for sharing this.) Interesting reading from the Chamber perspective on these bills. Please read and make your comments/testimony or contact our representatives to recommend approval or opposition.

This Wednesday, Feb. 6, is our first Statewide Day of Action for Indivisible groups across Oregon!

We hope you will join us in this new effort to create progressive laws for the future of our state. Our first issue is climate legislation, which has a very strong chance of passing and making us a leader in the nation on this issue -- but we need a push from you to make sure it gets done.

Food Drive at POP Meeting

FLASH JANUARY POP MEETING!

Yikes!
I just realized this morning that I haven't cancelled the meeting room at Route 30. So my first thought was to call them to cancel, second thought to just leave it and send out a notice for a social night, third was to have the Out of the Kitchen Marching band sing songs. After talking with Connie it seems like a great idea to just put the word out to have a night of solidarity and socializing - maybe only a few will show up - but Connie says she will be there, bring the song sheets.
