Measure 101 Visibility

Some of us are meeting next Monday (Jan 15) at 4pm near the eastside circle to hold signs up for Measure 101. We won't be standing in the circle itself, but just to the east of it. We have signs for you. We will stay till it is dark, which won't be too long. Cancel if raining. Please come and join us!

Indivisible M-101 Resources

Hi all - I participated on a conference call hosted by state and national Indivisible specifically on Measure 101. Yes, Indivisible at the national level is on M101 and supporting us! I wanted to pass on some resources that I learned about on the call:

Calling All POP Volunteers!

Hey POPers - 2018 is here and it's time to hit the streets for our elections and the Measure 101 special election is upon us. We have designed a program for our members to have regular visibility events (rallies) at some high profile locations in town for Measure 101, like 6th and Cherry Heights, the eastside traffic circle, the hospital district, etc. We need Corner Captains for each location to coordinate volunteers and we need volunteers to show up and hold a sign. Times are flexible - we just need people, and we need them for the next two weeks until the election happens.

Wasco County Commissioners are up for re-election

Now is the time to create a progressive change in our local elections. Two Wasco County Commissioners are up for re-election (position #1 and #3). Scot Here and Rod Runyon. Be the one to run as a candidate. Be the one to win. County Commissioners make over $40,000.00 per year. One must file as a candidate by March 2018.

Give me 10,000 men who are stout hearted men, ......

Tuesday's POP meeting is the most important so far! This is a day we should have an audience rivaling the attendance of last November. It is time to transform complaining into action. Until January 23rd, we need boots on the ground! We need "Corner Captains" and corner demonstrators. We need to align with the DEMs for the Neighborhood Leadership Program. We shall make a difference in the January 23rd referendum!

Tuesday 6:00 at the Highway 30! Be there! Bring a friend! Make a difference!

Here is the Kitzhaber article published in the Oregonian on the front page of the opinion section on December 27th, 2017.

Preparing for January (Oregon and the nation)

What You Need To Know About Oregon’s January Special Election:

Measure 101 ballots will be delivered by mail to registered Oregon voters the first week of January, and are due by January 23. Voting yes on Measure 101 means protecting healthcare for Oregon families – including 400,000 children, as well as seniors and people with disabilities – who otherwise couldn’t afford a doctor’s visit and are often forced to go to the emergency room when they get sick.
