According to Politico, our own dear Greg is the 17th Republican to announce his retirement at the end of this term. Congratulations one and all for the letters you wrote, the phone calls you made, the town halls you attended that contributed to this day!

Post Card Party at The Riv

We'll be writing post cards to voters and to our Members of Congress on Friday, November 1 at 10 am at The Riv Cafe (401 E Tenth St). Bring your favorite colored pens.If you don't have any, some will be provided. Come to enjoy some fellowship and coffee as we work to defend Democracy!

If you want some help signing up for Post Cards to Voters so that you can do it on your own from home whenever you feel inclined, bring a laptop or a smart phone and Debi will help you through the process.

POP Holiday Party 6:30

Mark your calendars for Tuesday December 17th at 6:30 pm at Steve and Karen Murray's house. Join us after the Impeachment Rally to celebrate our many successes during the past year.

The plan is to rally for Impeachment at the Post Office from 5:00-6:30 pm, followed by a potluck holiday party. Please RSVP to Debi at or 541-980-2047 (text)so we have an idea of how many people will be there.

NOTE that there will be no meeting December. Our next meeting will be Tuesday January 28th, 6pm at Route 30 pub.

No POP meeting in November due to Thanksgiving. Next meeting will be a Holiday party on Tuesday Dec 17th at 6 pm, location TBA. Regular meetings resume in January, on the 4th Tuesday (Jan 28).

Don't forget! Our October POP meeting is Tuesday, October 22, 6pm at Route 30 Bottles and Brew (317 E 2nd St). Come at 5 pm if you want to share what you've been reading and/or write post cards to voters in other states with critical elections this fall. There is so much going on....hope to see you all there! Immigration 101 Tonight - Library Meeting Room at 6:00pm

This Thursday, October 3, ICS Attorney MariRuth Petzing will be presenting an Immigration 101 presentation for English-speaking allies of the immigrant community. The presentation will begin at 6pm in the Library meeting room and will be followed by a question and answer session. The event is scheduled to end at 8pm. Gorge Commission Meeting 10 am

The Columbia Gorge Commission will be meeting on Tuesday October 8, in Cascade Locks at Bridgeside Restaurant, from 8am-4pm to work on their 10-year plan. The public is welcome. Starting at 10am, they will be discussing climate change and whether or not to include it in the new plan. Their previous 10-year plan made no mention of climate change. Please attend this public meeting if you can and let your Gorge Commissioners know that climate change must be a part of any plan going forward. Trump and the Constitution 6:30 -8 pm

Indivisible Columbia Gorge (ICG), Columbia Gorge Women's Action Network (CGWAN), and Protect Oregon's Progress (POP) present "Trump and the Constitution," a facilitated discussion on the constitutional ramifications of the Trump presidency. The discussion will be led by Judge Paul Crowley and Judge John Kelly, at Hood River Hotel, 102 Oak St in HR, from 6:30 - 8:00 pm on Tuesday October 8th. Come at 6 for a social (half) hour. This is a free event, though you may purchase beverages if you wish. It couldn't be more timely than right now! See attached pdf flyer for details.
