The following are to help you in your canvassing and debates in support of M101.

A Yes vote means:

  • Every Oregon child has access to healthcare
  • Working families, seniors, and people with disabilities keep the care they need
  • Healthcare insurance costs are stabilized
  • State and federal matching funds are maintained

What You Need To Know About Oregon’s January Special Election:

Measure 101 ballots will be delivered by mail to registered Oregon voters the first week of January, and are due by January 23. Voting yes on Measure 101 means protecting healthcare for Oregon families – including 400,000 children, as well as seniors and people with disabilities – who otherwise couldn’t afford a doctor’s visit and are often forced to go to the emergency room when they get sick.

Vote 2018

I am recruiting "Corner Captains" for seven corners during the run up to the Jan 23rd referendum concerning health care. The "corner captain" would organize frequent demonstrations at selected street corners and advantageous times beginning Jan 4th and continuing until Jan 24. Specifically I am looking for people with good connections to the following street corners: 6th &Cherry Heights, East end traffic circle, High School, Dry Hollow, Chenoweth School, MCMC, 4th & Kelley. Cleaner Air Oregon community forum THURSDAY!!

Oregon DEQ and the Oregon Health Authority will facilitate a discussion about the proposed Cleaner Air Oregon rules. These rules will determine how industry air toxics are regulated in Oregon.

Please attend, get informed, and share your comments! Public comments close Dec. 22 so this may be our last chance to ask questions directly to those helping draft the rules.

Oregon Ballot Measure 101 - January 23, 2018

Measure 101 is a fee on hospitals and insurance companies. It will be on Oregon ballots due January 23, 2018, and will help fund Medicaid in order to:

– Ensure every child in Oregon has access to healthcare
– Protect healthcare for working families, seniors and people with disabilities
– Stabilize healthcare costs and insurance premiums for hard-working Oregonians

Measure 101 Campaign Launch

The campaign for Measure 101 launches this coming Saturday. People will be meeting this Saturday 11am (Dec. 9) at the Senior Center (1112 W. 9th St. - enter from the west off Cherry Heights) to make signs and then walk over to the Cherry Heights / 6th St. intersection for a rally to bring attention to Measure 101. The campaign effort is being lead in our area by CareWorks, local 503 of SEIU in conjunction with YesforHealthCare.org, the statewide organization campaigning for Measure 101.
